EMPOWERING INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES

Through Native Agriculture, Food, and Equine Traditions

ABOUT OUR ONLINE EDUCATION PROGRAM

Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College (NHS) is dedicated to empowering Indigenous communities to preserve their traditional and cultural practices, while working towards a healthier future. To help with this goal, NHS offers three key programs: Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Equine Studies.

sustainable gardening and nutrition

Agriculture

This program promotes sustainability through hands-on farming practices and techniques. Students will learn traditional agricultural methods, such as how to cultivate crops and maintain a community garden.

Equine Studies

Based at Healing Horse Ranch, this program reconnects communities with their traditional bond with horses through natural horsemanship training, therapeutic riding, and community equine events.
